Certificate III in Information and Communication Technology

Goals of the program

As such, the purpose of this course is to provide participants with information and technical skills necessary to configure and troubleshoot personal computers, by emphasizing on the importance of information and communications technology (ICT). In addition this course adheres to assist end users in operating the information systems, repair and maintenance of minor hardware and accessories such as printers, networking etc.  The next aim of this program is to concentrate on technical knowledge to install and maintain information communication equipment’s with their networking requirements. Participants, who successfully complete this course will provide technical support, monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks. By itself, participants must have strong knowledge of information systems and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming. Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security may also be required. They may install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person.


Outcomes of the program

Recognize the importance of ICT and its application

Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications

Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks talking staff through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues

Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults and replacing parts if required following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system

Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues Strong understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP routing, Network packet analysis tools use and configuration.

Perform troubleshooting and complete repair on engines within a reasonable and expected time frame while maintaining an acceptable level of quality workmanship.

Testing and fixing faulty equipment.
