A self defense skills training program has begun aimed at the employees of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
The program is being conducted under an agreement between Maldives Police Service and MIRA.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Sadiq attended the opening ceremony as the guest of honor and officially initiated the program.
While speaking at the ceremony Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Sadiq noted the importance of the program and self-defense.
The 3 week program will have 143 members from MIRA. The instructors of the program are experienced officers of Institute of Security and Law Enforcement Studies (ISLES).
Speaking on behalf of ISLES, Sub Inspector of Police Ahmed Saamee said that such programs will be held for other government and independent institutes and noted that such programs has previously been held for some institutes and members of the media.
The opening ceremony held at Iskandhar Building was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Sodiq, Deputy Commissioner General of MIRA, and other officials from MIRA, members of ISLES and senior police officers.
